As a designer I help businesses figure out who they are: every business has a reason for being, a reason they do what they do. I help them turn those reasons into stories.
Designers are storytellers. As a designer I help businesses figure out who they are: every business has a reason for being, a reason they do what they do. I help them turn those reasons into stories. And sometimes I get to design a website for a business that knows a lot about who they are and what they stand for. Visit the craftsmen at Rockledge Farm Woodworks and you will see what I mean.
Rockledge Farm Woodworks is a family operation that has been making custom furniture in Weathersfield, VT for four generations. They hand-select exquisite pieces of sustainably-sourced native Vermont hardwoods and create a showroom filled with showstoppers: a gorgeous custom red oak burl dining table, a “live edge” coffee table, or a simple hand-carved cherry bowl.
About half their work is custom-designed and crafted. You can see their passion in the woodshop. You can visit and watch the magic unfold. A piece of birdseye maple might become a custom dresser, spindles for a dining room chair, or a solid hand-sculpted cutting board.
Their craftsmen are experts in expressing the stories hidden in the wood. They insist on letting the wood speak for itself – whether that means choosing the just right piece for a client’s design, or just holding treasuring a rare piece of wood until the perfect project comes along.
The best way to learn Rockledge Farm Woodworks’ story is to get inspired by their work. Use it to design a story of your own.
